In July 1997, Mark came home to Leominster, MA to begin a basketball camp for local kids.  He had just completed his first season as an assistant coach in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets.  He continued the camp, returning to his beloved hometown, every summer until his death in 2004.  The Leominster Recreation Department continued the camp in his memory until it was cancelled in 2013 due to lack of money and enrollment.  In 2014, Mark’s family joined the Leominster Recreation Department in raising money to bring the camp back.  Because of the generosity of a Dick’s Sporting Goods matching grant program, we were not only able to hold the camp (with more than 80 kids!), but the Recreation Department’s winter basketball league will be re-named in honor of Mark, bringing his spirit and love of the game to all young Leominster basketball players.

The 2016 Summer Clinic will be held at Leominster High School from August 8th to 12th.
